It has been three months since I last took any DXM.

I don't suffer from cravings anymore, not really, not the urgent, compulsive feelings I used to have. I do still think about it, though. Often in a wistful way. I miss it.

I hope in a few more months I will be in a position where I can use it again in a ceremonial context. Because what I miss most about it is the connection it gave me to what I sense as the Divine. In the proper context, I think I may yet be able to use DXM in a responsible (i.e., non-recreational) fashion.

why not nitrous or ketamine or ibogaine or another glutamate NR1A antagonist (out of all of those I realise that only ketamine is a sigma-1 agonist while ibogaine is a sigma-2 agonist).

If I could try K, I would. Inhalants scare me, though.

I had a FOAF try K down in Mexico where they could get in over the counter. while the thought of most inhalants is scary, nitrous is considered fairly safe in that they use it at dentists, on pregnant women, etc.

True, and if I had a medical professional administer it, I'd be more comfortable with it. However, I've seen many warnings about the "balloon" method, severe cautioning about how not mixing enough oxygen into your airflow will cause swift damage. As a newbie, I obviously would be at a loss to know if I'm doing things the right way.

the most fun way Ive heard of for having nitrous is via rebreathing. Ie one of a pair of people takes in the balloon, and then mouth-to-mouth contact with another person and they breath it in while keeping lip locked. Much fun.
