Was that really the 90s? When did the show debut?

I must be getting old.

Sort of. It ran from 1988-1993.

I loved all of these shows. (Except Sifl & Olly--never heard of it.) However, I didn't start watching the Daily Show until Jon Stewart took over (and well into his tenure at that).

Sifl & Olly was an absolute genius show that ran for a couple of seasons on MTV in the late 90's. There's a few clips on googlevideo, although I'm not sure that a clip or two can capture the pure wacky whimsical brilliance of the show.

I wonder if there are any of the old daily show clips floating around. It was heavier on the correspondent's segments back then, less political to be sure, but still very satirical on the news.

There are swathes of the 90s I don't recall, either. My TV habits oscillated, certainly.

I watched very little TV from 94 - 98, but from what I remember:

X-Files
ST:TNG
Simpsons
Buffy

I'm one of the few people in my circle of friends who doesn't watch Buffy. Its type of corny humor just doesn't do anything for me.

I liked the movie, however.

Yay, someone mentioned Bab 5!

I wasn't so much into Space Ghost Coast to Coast as I was into Cartoon Planet proper. Damn, I miss that show.

3rd Rock from the Sun was hilarious.

I admit to watching Xena, but I kind of trailed off as the series started to come to a close.

And I obviously still watch South Park. Hard to believe it's been on for ten seasons.

I was so disgusted by 93 that I jettisoned television altogether until 1999 (I got one free for test-driving a car-- I still have it). On the rebound, though, I have picked up on the magnificent The Tribe, which far supersedes anything I've seen of American TV in the nineties.

New Zealand post-apocalyptic teen drama. Rarely seen in America thanks to two of the worst distro deals ever seen, but is now available (season one, at least, the rest are coming) on DVD. Detilas should still be findable at entercloud9.com, I believe, and a bunch of clips (assuming no one's C&Ded them) are up at youtube.

Headbanger's Ball was huge. I remember watching that on my prom night.

You are not the first person I've heard extol The State. I think I've seen maybe two episodes.
