I was telling netmouse and rikhei that I'm thinking of getting a car, now that I have a permanent job. The kind I want, of course, is a hybrid. They suggested getting on the waiting list now.

I think I can go a few more months before I'd absolutely have to invest more money in the junkbucket that is my current car.

A reliable car seems like a top priority. We looked at a hybrid at one point, but the dealership didn't have one to test drive. I wouldn't buy a car without a test drive first. I wonder if the situation has changed much in the last 3-4 years.
