California police report supports Prius driver -- This is what I suspected when I first heard about the doubts being cast about the driver's account. Toyota is simply engaged in damage control.

I myself was curious about his massive debt and reported lack of payment on the vehicle, but those are simply circumstantial - enough to suggest an inquiry, but not enough to accuse him of criminal intent, in my book.

I wasn't aware insurance companies actually had to come up with an excuse to cancel coverage.

Then exactly against what are they insuring? If companies only cover healthy people and intentionally drop those who were healthy when they signed up but then became sick later, why in the world would anyone buy insurance?

It's going to make things doubly worse for them though if most people decide they believe the driver's account. Toyota has many million$ of rea$ons to lie.
