I've checked my email for the first time in over a fortnight!
I must devote the rest of my time while at the library to my editorial duties. Of course, before I depart, I must remind you of your civic duty. It's time to vote. November 4th. Be there.
For the political junkies, care to place wagers on how the outcome will shake out? Who will take the popular vote, and by how much? Who will capture the electoral college? Which states will surprise us the most by their results?
BTW, I finally saw firsthand a McCain sign in someone's yard. All campaign season I'd seen not a sign, button or bumper sticker for the Republican ticket.

Date: 2008-11-02 10:36 pm (UTC)I predict Obama-Biden will win big in both the popular vote and the electoral college. To get a 60 seat majority in the Senate we may have to hold our noses and let Lieberman continue to caucus with us.

Date: 2008-11-03 01:08 am (UTC)The conservative base is out in force spewing their fear mongering about the evil socialist monster but Mccain just doesn't appeal to enough moderate voters here. I think that his caustic, cynical way of obsessing on Obama's (perceived) weaknesses (and therefore not focusing so much on his own strengths) is actually helping Obama to win.
I think that Obama should (and will probably) win, but honestly I've become so cynical myself of the entire political system in our nation that I also wouldn't be surprised if the Republicans steal another election.
