Thank you! Sending out poems is the one consistent thing I've done for the last eight months (aside for when I was out of town). I think I've rediscovered what determination and persistence can do.
Email submissions certainly help. When I was a creative writing grad student in the early 90s I had to print out copies & envelopes, calculate postage, and lick the envelopes. If you don't mind going to all that trouble you might try sending a few to Free Lunch. Back then I set goals such as getting enough poem published to qualify for the Poets and Writers Directory of American Poets and Fiction Writers. I'm sure you qualify already.
*smile* Thanks for the links. I plan to get back to snail mail submissions, probably next year. I certainly am glad that the literary world has caught up with the digital age.
I technically have enough credits for P&W, but the last journal that accepted me is not on their list, and I cannot find enough contact information to submit it even as pending. So, soon I will be (dare I say it?) a poet. At least by their standards.
Edit: Actually, they count credits differently than just 1 per published piece, so it seems that I do qualify. I'll find out soon enough.
