The article, despite its title, speaks quite a bit about John Edwards. He's described as the "dark horse" candidate. I think he's the best shot the Democrats have of unseating Bush. Edwards has what the none of the other candidates have (excepting the Rev. Sharpton, of course): charisma.
Add to that the fact that he's a Southern Democrat (that is, an "electable Democrat"), and that's another point in his favor.
This isn't to say that I'm 100% behind him; there were some answers he gave to questions in early debates that gave me pause. I haven't been able to see much of the more recent debates, but I'm sure there were some things he stands for that I don't approve.
But that does not detract from the fact that it will take a charismatic candidate to unseat Bush.
Here's an interesting article about Edwards, written right when he entered the race.

Date: 2003-10-13 09:25 am (UTC)1) He's boyishly cute, like JFK in a way.
2) He's independently wealthy. He can afford those effective TV commercials.
3) He's "fresh", as having served only one term in the House. He's politically knowledgeable, but he's also not so mired as your typical "career politician". (This is a point his campaign should play up, in my opinion.)
4) He's young. Gen Xers want to vote for someone who is at least in the age group to be sympathetic to their viewpoint.
