President Obama has accomplished something I did not know was possible. His tax cut "compromise" has had the effect of dampening my enthusiasm for consuming news. In fact, I don't think I've webcrawled for news in over a week.

This amazes me because I have been rather rabid about news, political news especially, ever since the dispute over the 2000 election.

*shrug* I just think the rest of Obama's presidency is a wash. Whether he sees that or not, well, that doesn't really matter. He's whittled away his power till now he's the Republicans' doormat. There's really no coming back from that.

Chris Matthews just congratulated Chris Coons for winning his Senate race against Christine O'Donnell. "That was important, not just for the country, but for the human race," he said.
