Ben Stein: "science leads you to killing people" (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] sttatus_quo)

Edit: Olbermann included Stein in his roundup of Worst Persons this evening (Friday).

What I can't wrap my head around is the cynicism of someone who would intentionally say things they know aren't even vaguely true.

I have no respect for this man - he can take his red eyes and alaskan seafood and idiotic rhetoric and go pound sand.

I kept waiting for him to say something like "Only kidding folks- boy I really had you going for a minute there, didn't I?"

He didn't. Damn.

Oh, so it was scientists who are now responsible for the Holocaust? Stein's tongue should drop out of his mouth for saying such stupid B.S.

He went off the deep end a while ago. I thought his movie "Expelled" was a hoax, but turns out it's real. And so's this. He went the way of Kirk Cameron.

Because clearly no one was killed before the incorporation of I. G. Farben.

I don't think the scientists who developed Zyklon-B were anywhere near the prison camps. There were scientists who worked on the a-bomb with the promise that it would be used responsibly. When Truman dropped it, the scientists who developed it were out of the decision loop. Yes, scientists build the stuff, but they're not the ones to deploy it.
