The fact that it seems like a tie means that it was a win for Obama. I've been watching the political tide for quite some time; nine months ago, everyone said Hillary Clinton had everything in the bag, it was a foregone conclusion. Conservative pundits talked about her as though she were clearly the heir apparent.
That Obama could make up a double-digit spread in the span of a month indicates that Clinton is just hanging on. Even three months ago, the national polls had her winning handily across the country (for Democratic likely voters). It's no longer true.
Obama lost by a little bit. That he was expected to lose by a little bit, and is expected to gain in the next few primaries is heartening since I want him to win, but I'm too much of a math guy to answer other than literally.
John McCain won the most states and delegates, but with little enthusiasm from his party's base.
Who was the biggest loser in Super Tuesday?
All three Republican front runners, none of whom has national appeal: McCain won the votes of blue state Republicans, Huckabee won in his native south, and Romney won in states in which he has lived and worked plus the northern tier in the west/midwest.
