Date: 2006-06-19 05:38 pm (UTC)Many feel that infant baptism is against what the Church stood for (or should stand for). In the Middle Ages, people were not baptised until the age of maturity (usually around 14).

Date: 2006-06-19 07:22 pm (UTC)I think what I mean is, if a baby dies before it is baptised (or is aborted) it cannot go to heaven, innocent as it may be. but once baptised, it can starve to death and go to heaven and be saved. so as long as the baby is born and baptised and gets eternal reward, that's more important than quality of life on earth.
this disregard for life on earth and prime importance of afterlife may explain some anti-choice/pro death penalty/anti-social programs contradictions. personally i feel the whole anti-choice movement is anti-sex and based on the false idea that all women should welcome all pregnancies, that motherhood is the highest ambition etc etc. I hope s. dakota votes it down.
