I am posting from the comfort of my own computer.
netmouse, I should have jumped up and down when you handed me this laptop yesterday. It wasn't until last night when I started playing around with it that I realized that this changes everything.
I am indebted.
Tentatively, I have decided to name my electronic helpmate Hermes. Thoth also comes to mind.

Jan. 12th, 2008 09:31 pmI did some detective work on my computer and found files that weren't indispensible. In fact, there were things actually entitled "emalware". I relabeled them, shut down the computer, rebooted. It's running much faster and quieter now.
However, when I look at what programs are running when I'm not on the internet, Explorer still shows up. Which means there's still something on this machine, somewhere, that needs to go.
