Idiot couldn't keep the Union from splintering further.

We keep going on in our lives as though another Civil War could not happen. But it absolutely could.

Unfortunately, it would be democratic folks against the government (note the lowercase d), and if the democrats lost that would be the end of this great experiment.

There will never be another Civil War in the sense of the first two - armies marching against each other - but I could see a scenario that leads to something like a coup.
