My boss walked in and told me how much I'd be making. His amount wasn't quite the difference between what I was getting from the temp agency and what he was paying the agency, but it was totally fair. Especially with benefits, which I assume I'll be getting (he didn't explicitly say I would, but everyone else here has them).

My official first day is today!

(So I didn't have to go through all the ins and outs of hardball negotiating. But I thought about what I'd need to do in that instance, and I think the exercise did me good.)

Congratulations. It's always good when the offer is higher than your target. That's happened to me all of once, but it was nice!

Congrats! Yes he has to give you benefits. I'm pretty sure it's a law.
