Nothing new from Mr. Monkeypants. Freedom = shut up and do what you're told

I actually saw that last night, and he was declining to talk about a specific, touchy case. Nevertheless, what Dionysus1999 said about, "Nothing new from Mr. Monkeypants."

Mr. Monkeypants. Hoo boy.

I don't know. The quote stuck out to me because wouldn't any reasonable person say that yes, the journalists should protect their sources?

I realize the quote was specifically about the Plame case. The same case that required the President to retain a lawyer.

They should protect their sources, but they should be ready to go to jail if they want to protect their sources. Also, if the source did something unethical/illegal by revealing information to a reporter, it's less clear that the reporter is being unethical by revealing that source. I think there's some gray area, here.
