My computer here at work has told me repeatedly that I have W32.Mydoom.A in a particular file. I have downloaded three antiviral/antispyware software that purportedly removes that from one's computer, but none of them can detect this virus. In the meantime, I keep getting notifications from our Norton AntiVirus. I think I've gotten twelve or fourteen notifications since 8:30 this morning.
I've spent two hours trying to disinfect my computer, and all I've done is lost time.
Edit: Make that 144 notifications. And counting.

Have you tried this?

Date: 2005-02-23 04:33 pm (UTC)Oh, and I found that the extraordinary number of notifications was for a different virus, for W32.sober.l or whatever its actual name is. It was, well, quite stressful for a while. But then I had to reboot, and when I did it went into quarantine. So that's good, at least.
