Dec. 27th, 2004 11:13 amI had an interview today! However, it was more of a pseudo-interview.
I registered for Phoenix Services, a local temporary agency. I think completing all the paperwork took longer than the computer tests or the 'interview.' I'd forgotten about that. Ugh.
Anyway, they assessed my skills for numeric 10-key, alphanumeric 10-key, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and general typing speed. This was the first time I'd been tested for 10-key, so I was interested in my scores. After working as a bank teller and then in mortgage and real estate services, I've gotten pretty familiar with the little keypad to the right. For both tests I scored a 99% accuracy. (I aced the Word test, and Excel I missed only one question [for the lack of a simple equal sign!].) I still type around 70 words a minute.
The lady I interviewed with said that the position I applied for wouldn't be conducting their own interviews until after the new year. In the meantime, they might be able to set me up here and there. That's fine with me. I'm ready to work.
