"Yes, we need to respect individual freedom of religion. But at what point does it cross the line of not providing essential medical care? At what point is it malpractice?" she asked. "If someone's beliefs interfere with practicing their profession, perhaps they should do something else."
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be flippant. I wrote that after watching an episode of "Rage Against the Darkness" that came on Friday. It dealt with a home for the elderly, and part of the storyline had to do with the SARS outbreak.
I guess I'm still afraid that the countries that have already had SARS will be that much more likely to get it in subsequent winters. But if Canada's clear now, cool. Even more reason for me to get my stuff ready and packed. (I'd like to live in BC, but that's awfully far away. Toronto is much closer. I could even commute at first, if I could find a job there.)
Yeah! That's a great idea! Toronto has a number of book clubs and poetry groups, plus a great arts scene, and I'm sure you could find a job. I live not too far from there. It's also really neat that you watched Rage Against the Darkness; I've heard that it's a very good documentary, though I haven't seen it myself.
What she said!
