iconolatry, n. [icon- image + -latry, fr. Gr. latreia service.] Image worship.

If Christ is the image of God, then Christianity is iconolatry. It is the worship of the image of God.

Respectfully disagree. By doctrine, Christ *is* God, and inseperable from God, whereas most icons are not the item they represent. Which isn't to say that Christianity is not without it's iconolatry...
