I like this too! The exoskeleton part makes me think of Aliens or Terminator, and the icy blade slicing the self reminds me of the Tibetan Buddhist practice of trek-chod or of what, it seems, any mystic must go through since the ego is a quick-clinging, fast-growing vine.

I'm much enamored with the idea of terminator-as-bodhisattva! I.E. if the terminator wrote poetry, what would it be like? And how would he teach a religious studies class?

I voiced your questions to my former SO, but he doesn't seem to think your queries parse logically. He doesn't have much of an imagination.

Then again, neither do I. :) I have no idea how the Terminator would react to such requests. (But, I didn't watch the Terminator series. The only one I've seen is the second one, and that was years after it had been released on video.)

Well, he's kinda brutish in the movies. But I see him as maybe reading The Color Purple or Shantideva on the side. Cuz he's just that kind of android.
