Today I realized what my poetry these days seems to be lacking:

SCOPE!

I was so happy when I realized that. Now maybe I can address it.

It took me a minute to realize that you weren't referring to mouthwash.

The important question is this: what does it mean for your poetry to have scope? I know the definition of the word, but I'm not clear on how it applies in this context.

My poetry tends to be static and one-dimensional as far as time is concerned. Scope, perspective drawn over time, might give my poetry more depth.

I should also say, last year I concentrated very much on developing images. Concrete images, as might be assumed, don't need to change over time, so I didn't really work on those skills.
