Aug. 8th, 2004 07:03 pmI got my laundry done. I don't know if I'm going to continue frequenting that laundromat. You know how some dryers will continue to spin periodically even after the cycle is done, to keep your clothes from wrinkling? The proprietors of the place will go down the line in order to open and shut those dryers. I guess they don't want to spend the money on that extra heat. Talk about penny pinching. This has happened the last two times I've gone.
My dad went off for a conference this afternoon, so I decided to head downstairs and enjoy our cable service. (I don't have cable in my room, because running a cord into my room would constitute a tripping hazard, and Comcast doesn't want to be liable for that.) I was enjoying Patton, and it got to the part where Patton is trying to get to Messina and in the middle of battle fords a river. The river gets bombed or mortared at some point. Then the cable went out. After checking with my mom and making sure that it wasn't just the TV downstairs, I called Comcast and the earliest someone can be out to fix our cable is Tuesday morning. My dad gets back from his conference Tuesday evening. So he won't even miss it. I, on the other hand, am relegated back to the realm of four channels.
I walked to the store today and noticed that a neighbor across the street has a Kerry/Edwards sign in the front yard. That's heartening. I don't know if I've seen any others.
