you forgot *none of the above

I don't know that I have an opinion on this poll, however.

No, I thought about including NotA, but the CNN poll didn't have it, so I didn't put in that option, either.

Come on! Play along! :)

I just wanted to see how this poll (not statistically random, I know) compared with the one at CNN (also not random). The responses there surprised me.

Clearly, DR was the greatest president. Why? Because he was involved in designing a society based on human needs -- the ony president I know of who was more interested in helping people than in helping his friends get rich.

I see you and I are the sole votes for Washington. I voted for him for two reasons: his farewell address, which so clearly indicated the perils he saw in the future of a democratic state and likewise the dangers of the office he was vacating; and second, in line with Lao Tzu, I believe that the person most qualified to hold power is the person who truly wants it the least. Washington, to me, represents our most reluctant Chief Executive; as a result, his execution of that office was the most admirable.

I absolutely agree with this.

I feel we are too close to the 20th century to really have a grasp on how great FDR was. (Then again, he had a long time to make his case.) He was certainly better than several of the presidents who proceeded him. Doubly and triply said of Kennedy and Reagan, respectively. (Kennedy was better than Reagan in my book, because he had that vision thing.)
