well, that would be democracy, and you Americans haven't had that for a long time (though by convincing the populace that America is a democratic country, the powers-that-be kept people from actually seeking out liberty, being under the illusion that they already have it). He really doesn't serve at the public's pleasure - he was put into office by the military-industrial complex (Lockheed and Haliburton), so it is their agenda he serves (well, the rabbit-hole goes deeper than that, but people aren't ready to believe the true nature of the game goes beyond any group of human actors).
