They didn't read it on the air today, but they often do news follow-up jokes the next day. They may still give my website a free plug.

One thing I neglected: I should have told them that methamphetamine was also available as a prescription drug, since it's only Schedule II (as is morphine, PCP, cocaine--yet heroin [which is 1/4 as potent as morphine], quaaludes, LSD and marijuana are Schedule I--this doesn't make any sense!).

Subject: Drugs (METH!)

Dear Guys & Kristi,

My name is Josie, and I've been listening to you guys for about two months now. My boyfriend and I get up at (or stay up until) five in the morning just for the occasion, and stay tuned right up until close of the show. Thanks for all the laughs.

Caught something you said about drugs. You were talking about methamphetamine. You referred to it also being known as speed. I got online and did a quick peek around: speed is amphetamine, not methamphetamine. The two are chemically different--they have slightly different chemical structures and elements.

A prescription drug that is also an amphetamine is Adderall (you can check out a general description). Methamphetamine, on the other hand, is also known on the street as "crank", "ice", "crystal", "glass"... and meth, ofcourse. :)

Not to be nitpicky, but it's important not to broadcast mistaken information. (I hope to study psychopharmacology in my graduate studies; this is how I have my info!)

Thanks a bunch,
Josie

(You don't mind doing a little shameless plug, do you? It's nothing fancy, just barebones... but it represents a lot of love and hard work. [It's a plan for future alternate housing/nontraditional religious organization.])
