hmm didn't tell ya about the show i saw. it was pretty neat, they didn't get into too many scientific details, but they used magnetic fields to recreate (using a helmet) similar spiritual visions. they also tested a buddhist who was meditating by pumping some radioactive tracers into his body when meditating and they found out that when meditating the temperal lobes become extremely active, and this lobe in the back middle of your brain (forget it's name unfortunately) becomes very inactive, and it's responsible for interpriting your senses or something like that... so pretty much your temperal lobes become active and you lose touch w/ your senses... then they tested a christian nun praying and the same thing happened to her... it was pretty cool.
