So, yesterday I was babysitting a scenario I'd started the day before--a very easy scenario that I began for the wide open spaces (in order to practice building coasters). I got up to Year 8 before I decided to try a new scenario.
Just for fun, I opened up Rainbow Valley to survey the map. I began to see how I could spruce the place up a bit.
First off, I built the paths. I figured, build the paths first and then situate the rides. This helped tremendously (as opposed to the other way around--the paths would have gotten all of the sims confused/lost). I built a rather nice wooden crazy rodent coaster called Twisty Tight. This helped bring in customers for the first year or two.
Eventually I worked my way to the end of the park and built a very lame corkscrew coaster. It was simply a continuous loop, no twists or anything. The only thing going for it was that it used a powered launch, which meant that the moment it left the station it was travelling around 50 mph. I called this Kiddie Coaster. The sims ate it up! They loved it. They thought it was great and happily spent more money to ride it multiple times. Hey. I can't complain.
I easily satisfied the requirements of the scenario--I had about 1,800 customers in my park, and the happiness rating was at 993 (out of 999). All this for a scenario I had no idea I was going to tackle seriously.
After I finished that, I went to the menu and opened my prize, the Mega Park. That map is a MONSTER! Over a million square feet of real estate! *orgasmic sigh* I can't wait to get started.
