Israel's Sharon May Face Bribery Charges

An Israeli court charged a real-estate developer Wednesday with paying more than a half-million dollars in bribes to Ariel Sharon — a case that could force the prime minister to step aside.

While Sharon has not been charged, Justice Ministry officials say they are considering whether to indict the Israeli leader. The officials say the decision is expected in the coming weeks or months.

Why do we have to "favor" Israel over Palestine? Any ideas?

It all goes back to the 1940s and Truman's (I think it was Truman) decision to back the formation of a Jewish state. That established America's bias, if you will, and it hasn't changed much since.

Even that does not really persecute Palestinians on its own accord. That just recognizes an area of land as Israel, doesn't it? It would take a helluva a lot of shit to transmogrify that simple thought into the political bs taking place now.
