Happy holidays, everyone.
Dec. 25th, 2003 09:43 amI think I spent $50 more than last year, but somehow I came up with much better gifts this year.
I gave my nieces mostly educational gifts. My older niece received The Very Hungry Caterpillar, one of my favorite books when I was a child. She was so interested in it that she forgot she was in the middle of unwrapping presents. :)
My brother and his fiance got my parents a DVD player. I could not afford to be so extravagant this year. But I'm happy for my parents--they didn't even have a VCR (and I guess they still don't). Their DVD player is a bit cooler than mine; it can play MP3s.
My parents got me an Earth, Wind & Fire CD. I was (am!) so happy, because I've been wanting them in my music collection for some time.
As much as I despised shopping, it was nice to exchange gifts. I've got to start earlier next year.
