So I was webcrawling & came across this article at PBS about prison wine. Apparently some inmates sickened themselves by way of botulism from a potato.
So the PBS story reads, "Pruno, or 'prison wine' is an alcoholic liquid made from apples, oranges, fruit cocktail, ketchup, sugar, milk, and possibly other ingredients, including crumbled bread to ferment the beverage."
Eventually, I look up "pruno" & visit the Wikipedia page (because you knew there had to be one). It reads, "Pruno, or prison wine, is an alcoholic liquid variously made from apples, oranges, fruit cocktail, ketchup, sugar, milk, and possibly other ingredients, including crumbled bread. Bread supposedly provides the yeast for the pruno to ferment."
That's inching awfully close to Rand Paul levels of lifting, PBS. Skirt back.
(By the way: want to learn more about pruno? Visit this lovely feature. [
fizzyland, the style & tone of the article are just up your alley.])
