Ha. Nearly all of my old faves gathered into one place. And some wonderful new ones. Hard not to just tick all the boxes, but that wouldn't help you much.

Heh.

It's hard for me to judge the strength of pieces that I wrote this year. They're still too close to me, I guess.

I appreciate any and all help that you can give me. (That goes for everyone, of course, but you in particular: you gave me a lot of feedback throughout the course of the year.)

By the way, which ones are new to you?

the first 4 and last one I don't recall seeing before. The fourth was very effective once I worked out how to read it

good, but seeing the comments on the poetry site you sometimes link to, I realised how uncritical I have been. It comes from your other critics being poets, who have something valid to say re form. All I can report is which ones tug most powerfully at my gut (the visceral gotcha, as I've called it before). Some of your most technically tricksy and admirable poems, like the pantoum and acrostic don't do it for me at an emotional level, but might impress an academic assessing your application. When's your submission deadline?

Eyes Wide Shut is on my "almost certainly" list. The feedback I've gotten over the year suggests that I'd be remiss if I kept it back.

Oh, and there're at least two ways to read that poem on the page. :) I had a lot of fun constructing it, as you can probably tell.
