'Cold Mountain' Tops List of Golden Globe Nominees

After watching The Hours last year and seeing it (and other films that I admired) win at the Golden Globes, I have a newfound respect for the tastes of the nominating pool.

So many good films come out in November and December! Can't they space them out more evenly during the year? (Like, when people aren't trying to manage Christmas budgets?)

The films come out in December because that way they are more easily remembered for the Oscars.

I know, but it's really annoying. Especially for people who live paycheck to paycheck, you know. :)

The closer to Oscars the better, in the mind of indie and biggie studios, of course. Yeah...I know how you feel. There are like ten movies out right now I want to see!!! AHHH!!! But it's easier when your parents refuse to take you to see some of the ones with graphic sex in them. Unfortunately, because of society today, that narrows the list down a lot, lol.
