If you attended a movie in the theater this year, which one was your favorite?

"District 9" is the first thing that comes to mind because it was so powerful, but I think the best movie experience was "Up."

I remember all the good press "Up" received. Do you think it will translate well to the small screen?

I think so. Up was the best thing I saw in the theater this year, and Brian gave me the DVD for my birthday so I'll find out about the small screen sometime soon...

(Although first I'm going to watch the first season of Castle, which Jae loaned us)

Interesting. I would have been much more energized about seeing the film (if only at the dollar theater) had I heard more word of mouth about it.

We watched it on the small screen on NYE, and I can confirm it's still wonderful and lovely. The story is great, the characters are great - it's what we've come to expect from Pixar.

A vote for Benjamin Button. I did want to see that; thanks for reminding me.

Harry Potter was the only one, but it was good.

As much as I liked Avatar in the IMAX theater, I think Moon is the better story.

(Those, The Hurt Locker and Seven Pounds were the only movies I saw this year.)

I'm torn between Star Trek, Avatar IMAX 3D, and Harry Potter. I think that Avatar was by far the prettiest, and Star Trek was "better". My girlfriend says that it's better partly because of its history, which I agree with.
