It's pretty much captured in the last three images/phrases in the TV trailer:
"Jennifer's Body." [shot of actress unzipping her jacket, revealing her midriff] {her voice} "You want it?"
This is bigtime eye-rolling territory.
(I'm not a Freudian theorist, but if I were, I could surmise from what is known about the movie to date that the main character is a symbol, the living representation of vagina dentata.)
Ahh, not getting a chance to see much TV, I haven't seen that one yet. I've only seen a few online trailers which place the movie firmly in the "listing of horror movie tropes" category, but nothing was particularly misogynist there (although, I must say, the thing is decidedly anti-intellectual, but...well, it's a horror flick so, it is what it is...heh)
I agree. The title and the use of Jennifer's body together are offensive. Let alone the plot. My son was really offended when one of the characters says "you are killing people" and Jennifer's body responds "no I am not, I am killing boys".
