Well, it looks like Wizards of the Coast have screwed up Magic by trying to turn it into YuGiOh! when I wasn't looking.
That explains some things. I've never played YuGiOh!, so I wouldn't have noticed the similarities in mechanics. Is that what they were trying to do? Do they know what market they're targeting?
I've only played YuGiOh! once, so this isn't my information. But I'm told they added mythic rares to give more of a YGH feel, started calling "comes into play" "entering the battlefield" and "leaves play" became "exiled". But what really kills the game for me is that damage doesn't use the stack any more, so about 2/3 of my decks no longer work. I'm glad I haven't played in years because at least I don't have to think that my dollars funded this.
*nod* I'd predicted to dionysus1999 that you would be especially affected by the rules changes; you tailored your decks to take advantage of the stack.

And I like everything I've seen of the new Starcraft II gameplay. :)
