. . . is the first step in establishing objectivity. Jon Stewart is obviously biased toward liberalism, but that doesn't mean that his opinions aren't based in objective fact.

Stewart consults history in his dressing-down of MSM's coverage of Bill Clinton's diplomatic rescue in North Korea. The clip is mid-page.

Stewart is open about his, er, admiration for Mr. Clinton. That doesn't discount his criticism toward those who covered the hostage story.

The fascinating thing about all this is that it's just like critics of Michael Moore - people with huge biases complaining about someone else having one.

Also, we need more critics of the media and the status quo, not fewer. Someone has to encourage a near-duplicitous public to view the world with healthy skepticism.
