Went to see The Hurt Locker with my parents. My dad really liked it; my mom and I were not as impressed. I don't watch a lot of war movies, and I really didn't even know that's what the movie was about before we arrived at the theater. Of the ones I have seen: Patton--good. Platoon--good. Hurt Locker--not so much. But if you're a war film buff, you might get a lot out of it.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] lameautarch showed me Primer, which came out five years ago. It's physics-speak heavy, and it was quite confusing but intensely interesting. Apparently, it was shot on a $7k budget, which is freaking impressive. I thought, as mindfucks go, Moon was the better film, with a wider appeal. However, I feel my geek friends would appreciate Primer if they could get their hands on it.

Never been much of a war film type myself. I've gotten into the most random ones, though. For some reason Tears of the Sun made me cry a river and I'm sure there have been some others I've liked but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I'd really like to talk to you about some things soon...

You sent me a private message earlier but I absentmindedly thought it was a notification for a comment, so I deleted it with the intention of just responding to the comment itself. So if you could re-send that, I'd appreciate it. Sorry 'bout that.

We watched Primer not too long ago. I was also impressed with how well they did with a low budget, though time travel pieces always have plot issues.

How did you hear about it? Was it in your Netflix queue?
