(I still get into arguments with an ex-boyfriend about how to pronounce that. It's Welsh, dammit! There's no 'm' sound in that word anywhere.)

Heh. He thinks he's right because one of his other friends pronounces it that way. He apparently was the source of this mistaken pronunciation.

I think it helped that I heard the word before I saw it in print. Of course, that meant I flipped when I read it for the first time.

I think you should encourage his linguistic misconception, then take him to meet up with a bunch of Goetic pagans who take themselves hyper seriously.
You should be able to find them at your local "serious" occult store shooting eyeliner caked glares at eachother.

Personally... I get a distinct joy out of pronoucning it wrong around those who I know will correct me.
