Picking on sex workers

RI tries — again — to outlaw indoor prostitution

From what I understand, these sex workers are posing a very minimal social risk for the community. There isn't regulaton for STD testing, but this is much more benign than, say, streetwalking.

There are ways of making prostitution legal that would minimize exploitation, rape, and disease. It involves such things as monthly STD screenings (paid for by UHC, natch), free psychiatric care for the sex workers, bodyguards for brothels, legal help for individual business women and men working out of their homes, and severe prosecution for anyone who involves children or nonconsenting adults in it at all.
