3 from Mich. arrested in Neb. after pot is found
My question is, if you have that much contraband in your car, why in the hell would you speed? I know that Nebraska is a boring state to drive through, but come on.
The State Patrol said Tuesday that a trooper stopped an eastbound sport utility vehicle on Monday for speeding on Interstate 80 in north Lincoln.
A drug dog taken to the scene alerted to the smell of drugs coming from a camper the SUV had been towing.
The patrol says 34 bales of marijuana were found in the camper, totaling 727 pounds.
The street value was estimated at $750,000.

Date: 2009-06-02 11:14 pm (UTC)I wish that the article said how fast they were speeding; my theory is that you might actually be safer if you go just above the speed limit(as long as other traffic is always going faster), staying at 5mph above or less, that way you appear like you have nothing to hide and it's not worth it for the cops to pull you over.
I wonder if the driver had the same idea, in which case my theory is out the window. ON the other hand, he might've just not been paying attention, and/or the road was going downhill and there happened to be a cop at that spot..
