What is your favorite food made with honey?

What is the oddest foodstuff you like that includes honey?

I dunno if it's my favorite, but Baklava is pretty awesome, if labor-intensive.

Oh gosh do I love that stuff. My last day at the scoring facility, my group had a small potluck, and I brought fresh baklava from a mediterranean bakery.

baklava, definitely. Or fried ice cream with warm honey drizzled all over it. Yum.

The only things I regularly use honey for are:
-making homemade mead (and that's not exactly "regular")
-pizza sauce (it balances out the tart of the tomato)
-apple crisp

I never would have thought to put honey in pizza sauce.

(I do often put sugar in my spaghetti sauce, though.)

I love Baklava, but cannot make it myself.

Oddest? Hunan-style lemon chicken. The lemon sauce is honey, lemon juice, water, soy sauce, and cornstarch. That, I can do.

Sure!
Actually I misremembered, there's no soy sauce in the lemon sauce.

Chicken:
3 whole chicken breasts
Vegetable oil
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup water
1 egg
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda

Skin and bone the chicken breasts; cut them in halves. Heat 1 to 1 1/2 inches of oil in a skillet or wok to 360 degrees. Beat the remaining ingredients with a hand mixer until smooth; dip the chicken pieces one at a time into the batter and fry 2 at a time until golden brown, turning once, about 7 minutes. Drain.

Cut chicken crosswise into 1/2-inch slices; arrange in a single layer on a heated platter. Prepare Honey Lemon Sauce, and pour over chicken. Garnish with lemon slices.

Honey Lemon Sauce

1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
t Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. cold water

Heat the 1/2 cup water, the lemon peel, lemon juice, honey, bouillon powder, salt, and garlic to boiling. Stir together the cornstarch and the tablespoon of cold water, and add this to the sauce, stirring for about 30 seconds until thickened and translucent.

It's yummy, I promise you.

Fresh-out-of-the-oven homemade white bread smothered in honey is SO GOOD.

I also drink a garlic-and-honey tea concoction when I feel a cold coming on. It's a lot better than it sounds.

I haven't made homemade bread in a long time.

Speaking of, I'm sure there's a sweet roll recipe that uses honey. That would be delicious.

I suppose the commonest 'food' I make with honey is tea with milk and honey, for Holly's throat when she has a cough. (or mine should I have one, come to that)
