flicks as of late
Jul. 25th, 2009 07:28 pmWent to see The Hurt Locker with my parents. My dad really liked it; my mom and I were not as impressed. I don't watch a lot of war movies, and I really didn't even know that's what the movie was about before we arrived at the theater. Of the ones I have seen: Patton--good. Platoon--good. Hurt Locker--not so much. But if you're a war film buff, you might get a lot out of it.
Also,
lameautarch showed me Primer, which came out five years ago. It's physics-speak heavy, and it was quite confusing but intensely interesting. Apparently, it was shot on a $7k budget, which is freaking impressive. I thought, as mindfucks go, Moon was the better film, with a wider appeal. However, I feel my geek friends would appreciate Primer if they could get their hands on it.
