update on the creepy guy

I went home an hour earlier than normal yesterday. He happened to be on that bus (just my luck). The first thing I said was, "I'm glad to have run into you, because there's something I need to talk to you about."

"What about?"

"Some of your actions the last time we chatted really made me uncomfortable."

"Like what?" He almost sounded as if he didn't believe me.

"Well, you put your arm around me, you tried to kiss me on the cheek, and you called me 'Darling'. And this is in spite of the fact that I keep telling you that I'm not interested in anyone and that I'm happy being single." He stuck his lip out as if he were about to cry. "I'm not trying to be mean. But you have to understand what advances like that mean for someone in my position." (My initial urge was to say "someone female", which is closer to the truth than what I ended up saying.)

On the connecting bus, we had to sit away from each other, as there were only a few seats available. That suited me just fine.

Well, if he looked pouty, maybe that means he's finally getting it, tho it's terrible (for you) that you had to spell it out this way.

It wasn't that terrible. I just am not used to being put in that position. But after the last interaction, I knew I had to say something.

We'll see. After we sat in different areas on the second bus, he still tried to keep up a conversation across several passengers. I never responded verbally, which I'd hoped would be a sign, but I don't know if he picked up on it.
