Nepal might use deadly force on torch protests: Soldiers, cops authorized to shoot to stop demonstrations on Everest run -- I'm starting to agree with growing opinion that countries should boycott the games.

It's such a multi-layered issue. Most of the things sold in stores are from that region, and with teh current economic strife it's a really slipper slope. Should we boycott for moral reasons, absolutely. But doing so could have a really bad effect on the financial situation that's all ready bad.

The reason why our dollar is so weak is because China will not regauge the yuan to the dollar. The US cannot put any pressure on China because China has been floating loans to the Treasury all throughout the Bush administration. China has us over a barrel.

Our recession should not affect our ethical decisions. These are peoples' lives.

I agree entirely. I just don't think that our country, especially with the current administration will agree to boycott.
