Already, it is December. Where has this year gone?

Several times throughout the year, it seemed as though it were positively dragging its feet. Now that it is December, I suppose my perception has shifted.

Uck. I have to go through my "I hate winter" phases again. You know, I don't have to live on a tropical island, but residing somewhere where cold, ice, and frostbite do not occur would be really, really nice.

Anyway, evaluating where I am as opposed to a year ago, well, it's amazing how much can change in 12 short months. 2001 has been completely impossible to predict. Really, despite all the speculation that went on before, nothing could have prepared any of us for the news and realities of this year. And, GOD, it's not even over yet!

Then again, I guess putting stock in the idea of a calendar year is silly. Most of my growth this year has taken place in periods where time did not seem to exist.

I was thinking exactly that. It's true for me as well. Time can be as elusive as the Tao sometimes. Watch a clock for a while, it can start to get weeeeeirrd...

hehee... i'd have to ask though, in what way does it get weird? i find that if i watch anything long enough (which i cant do now a days cuz ive lost that patience) it starts to get 'werid'

Hehe. Yeah, anything can get weird. But with a clock, you know each move of the hand is one second. As you stare at it, the seconds get slower and faster! Well, I don't know if this always works, but it has for me in the past.

Yeah, sounds good. She didn't complain yet anyway. :-)

I dunnooo...I mean, it's just speculation. But don't you think she would have told us to shut our yaps by now, if she didn't like it?

I think you're right, maybe she isn't even reading all these! I mean, if she was, wouldn't she have said something by now? Even just a little squeak for us?

i would think so. maybe we should ask her a question?

Hmm, yes. Let's ask her a question, like: Hey Nova, if, hypothetically, two weird people were writing comments to each other in your journal, hypothetically...and if, hypothectically, one of those people asked you a question, that began: "if, hypothetically, two weird people were writing comments to each other in your journal"...then how would you respond?

Only hypothetically.

yet more evidence that time is an institutional thing. the rhythm of your body is something that youre comparing time with. i had a dream once, where i was trying to find a way to get around the slowness that happens when too many of a person's protiens break down... and i was wholly aware in my dream, of when my body was reacting one way or another to what i ate and how much sleep i got etc. and look, it's happening... i'm not at the level of my dream but... o0

o0 is right. That is everyday stuff (eating sleeping), but when you are aware of it, might be transformed. I think meditation practice can increase that everyday awareness, though gradually. I'm sure there are other practices too. I'm not there either, but I don't see why it's not possible given awareness. I wouldn't mind having a dream like that, either...

aye. i'm sure meditation is one of the ways people can get there... but there are others... i guess it depends on how it is someone learns to quiet their inner voices so that they can begin to hear their innermost dialogues... i think i like being aware of my body. how what i eat, the content of this or that, how it affects me. it's nice.

It really is. Unless you just ate two big ass pieces of pizza and an order of cheese fries.

I like how my muscles are always having a dialog with each other. They do tend to get pretty tense in some areas though. :-(

yeah. my muscles sometimes get really tense too. i guess thats a reflection of how our brain is handling things up there.

Absolutely. For example, just now I noticed my jaw was clenched. Physically, no reason why it should be so. Mentally, yes. When I noticed, I relaxed a bit.
