Seven Types of Ghosts

If we were to get into a time machine with this computer and a power source and go back 1000 years, we would likely be accused of witchcraft. To the people 1000 years ago this computer machine would have been considered impossible. Its abilities would be considered the power of the devil. To them, this computer is supernatural. To us it is just another machine.

My first thought was, Not to mention the time machine itself! Which got me to reverse the idea altogether: How would we, technology-believers, react if the shoe were on the other foot?

If someone in strange clothes came up to you and said he just materialized from some year in the future, you'd think he was crazy and have him committed. But if someone said they came from the future and had a fancy contraption with him, you'd believe him! (Definitions of "fancy" may vary.)

no I wouldn't.

lots of science fiction postulates time travel without taking a machine with you.

I wouldn't have them committed because that doesn't seem like the kind of delusion that makes someone dangerous or nonfunctional.
