Father went to college
Father finished college
Mother went to college
Mother finished college
Have any relative who is an attorney, physician, or professor
Were the same or higher class than your high school teachers
Had a computer at home (Oh my goodness, it was a Tandy 300, I believe, and it had no way to save data. I very much coveted my cousin's Commodore 64.)
Had your own computer at home
Had more than 50 books in your childhood home
Had more than 500 books in your childhood home
Were read children's books by a parent (I assume this was the deal, until I started being able to read on my own, which was by age 3.)
Had lessons of any kind
Had more than two kinds of lessons
People in the media who dressed and talked like you were portrayed positively
Had a credit card with your name on it before you turned 18
Have less than $5000 in student loans
Have no student loans
Went to a private high school
Went to summer camp (I must qualify this, though. It was a once-in-a-generation type of summer camp: it involved the school that was in walking distance. They had just built these trailers adjunct to the school proper because they had started getting too many pupils. The camp was educational as well as fitness-oriented; they fed us lunches in the middle of the day. This lasted for two weeks, and only for one summer.)
Had a private tutor before you turned 18 (I was a tutor before I turned 18 . . . .)
Have been to Europe
Family vacations involved staying at hotels (I remember wondering why my family never took vacations. The only one I can recall was when I was nine; we went to Florida to visit family [and the adults traveled over to participate in Mardi Gras].)
All of your clothing has been new and bought at the mall
Your parents bought you a car that was not a hand-me-down from them
There was original art in your house when you were a child
Had a phone in your room [in High School]
You and your family lived in a single family house (for a little while . . . .)
Your parent(s) owned their own house or apartment before you left home
You had your own room as a child (only for a few years, after my sister left home but before we had to move--and, actually, now that I think about it, it was only for one year.)
Participated in an SAT/ACT prep course
If you had your own cell phone in High School (For us old-schoolers, they could have used "pager" instead)
Had your own TV in your room in High School
Opened a mutual fund or IRA in High School or College
Flown anywhere on a commercial airline
Gone on a cruise with your family
Gone on more than one cruise with your family
Your parents took you to museums and art galleries as you grew up
You were unaware of how much heating bills were for your family

Also, [livejournal.com profile] tlatoani had this to say about the whole thing, and came up with this very helpful resource.

I don't consider some of those things to have anything to do with privilege. And some to me are just dumb. I grew up pretty poor but my folks always took us to museums and bought us books, we didn't have much of a library system. There was original art in my family's house...it was painted by my dad.

The idea of privilege is that one doesn't have to consider it.

I would like to see your list.

thats not a thing most Australians worry about, although Im in the process of putting in a hot tub/spa, so I will have and higher electricity bill until they bring out those cheep solar panels and install them.

My father was a University lecturer, but unless you are one if the top people in the department over here, they dont get a professorship (example from my work here). Nor does he have a PhD, but any paper invesigating them would use his work. In fact he was in Chicago just recently to visit the museum there.
