I think when they talk about hitting her head somewhere, they mean in conjunction with the bomb, not just from ducking. It may not be true, but I think it's a bit more plausible than it sounds at first.
Yeah, either way the same people killed her, but if it was the bomb and not gunfire that killed her than the government can claim to have less culpability.
Am i the only one who finds it really odd that her husband requested there be no autopsy on her?

There are some serious prohibitions against desecrating bodies in Islam, and strong pressure to have the burial by the end of the next day (just as in Judaism). It really doesn't make much difference if she died from a blow to the head, flying shrapnel, or a bullet wound; they know the cause and the minute details don't really matter enough to warrant the autopsy and the related delays.
It is quite possible to die from a blow to the side of the head near the ear - there's a sharp and fragile little bone piece there that can break off and wreak all sorts of havoc, and it's an all-too-common reason for fatalities from domestic abuse. But...I'm not sure whether I'm buying it or not. This whole situation is so damned political that I'm not sure anything we're told can really be relied on.
They're blaming it on al Qaeda. I think this means, "Hey, if we blame al Qaeda, we don't really have to investigate it!" Especially since they probably did it themselves .... It's not often that I find myself rooting for a civil war in a foreign country.
