And that's just what Darwin would have predicted/did predict in "Origin": Species who are far apart geographically are going to evolve in slightly-to-widely different ways.

actually you dont have to be far apart geographically to speciate, you have to be separated by a barrier that limits reproduction, some of these barriers are geographic, others can be behavioural or climatic.
