In the US, it's Thanksgiving

Thanks to everyone who reads my journal, even if it's just for the news links. :)

Thanks to all my friends who see me face to face. You help me laugh and you bring joy to my life.

Not that any of them read my journal, but I am thankful for all of my family members, both past and in this current iteration.

I'm thankful for my unflagging optimism, even in the face of crisis and general Bad Things(tm).

I am thankful that poetry continues to be such a large part of my life. I love being an editor, and I'm thankful that I am skilled enough to be one.

I'm thankful that my dad is here, falling asleep while watching the Lions game. I am thankful that he is still living and able to do so.

I'm thankful for my siblings, even though I don't see them very often, and my nieces and nephews, who I see even less frequently. I love them all, even my oldest nephew, of whom I am estranged.

I am thankful for my mom, who comes up to visit fairly often, and who calls me Cutie and Sweetiepie when I greet her hello.

I am thankful that my family has never had difficulty showing each other love and affection. Kisses and hugs are our general currency.

I'm thankful for the few bright spots in 2007, a year that was dark on the whole. Despite its aftermath, this summer was the best of my life, and I don't know where I would be without it.
